Required Skills & Experience- Prior experience writing successful health research or federal grants
- Strong scientific/medical writing ability
- Experience with large multi‑site or academic grants
- Ability to work fast with tight deadlines
- PCORI / NIH / AHRQ grant experience
- Background in public health, medicine, or clinical research
- Experience with resubmissions or competitive rewrites
We need an experienced grant writer to rewrite, strengthen, and resubmit a multi‑institutional pediatric research grant. A draft already exists and requires substantial rewriting, polishing, alignment with funder priorities, and narrative strengthening before May submission.
The grant focuses on a multicenter pediatric perioperative pain study with national collaborators. The writer’s primary responsibility is writing, editing, restructuring, and finalizing the grant for competitive resubmission.
Responsibilities- Rewrite and strengthen full grant narrative (not starting from scratch — draft provided)
- Ensure alignment with funding agency priorities (e.g., PCORI‑style stakeholder engagement, impact, dissemination)
- Improve clarity, flow, and competitiveness of:
- Research strategy
- Stakeholder engagement sections
- Partnerships and national collaborations
- Dissemination and implementation plan
- Integrate feedback from PI and collaborators
- Ensure consistent voice across sections
- Prepare final submission‑ready version (May deadline)
- Revise multiple times quickly as feedback comes in
