VP Clinical Development Job Description
The VP of Clinical Development will provide clinical and scientific input for various development documents, including protocols, Investigator Brochures, Clinical Study Reports, and regulatory submissions. The role involves designing and executing early-stage clinical development plans to demonstrate proof of concept, acting as the Medical Monitor for assigned studies, and ensuring safety oversight and medical data review throughout trials. The VP will review and interpret clinical trial data, ensuring scientific integrity and alignment with program goals.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with external investigators on Investigator Sponsored Trials and assist in site selection and feasibility assessments.
- Partner with cross-functional teams and external partners to support study planning and execution.
- Collaborate with the Translational Medicine team to strategize, design, and implement biomarker plans.
- Lead cross-functional efforts to translate preclinical mechanistic insights into clinical development strategies.
- Interface with internal research, translational, and clinical leaders to guide indication selection and shape overall program direction.
- Collaborate on regulatory planning and contribute to milestone meetings such as End-of-Phase discussions.

- Required
Education:
Medical Doctor (US) - Required Therapeutic
Experience:
Rheumatology, cell therapy - Nice to have experience in SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus), LN (Lupus Nephritis), SSc (Systemic Sclerosis)
- Experience across all clinical phases
The role offers the opportunity to build out and scale the clinical team, with multiple ongoing Phase 1-3 programs. The work environment is characterized by a small team with a strong culture, currently consisting of only two clinical members. There is the ability to be fully remote, with a preference for candidates in the EST zone, though other zones are open.
Monthly travel to sites is required, starting in the US and possibly expanding to Europe in the future.
This is a Permanent position based out of Rockville, MD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $400000.00 - $450000.00/yr.
