Groundwater Quality Specialist

• Serve as the statewide technical authority on complex hydrogeological issues regarding groundwater contaminants
• Lead advanced investigations of multiple contaminants affecting Wisconsin's groundwater
• Provide expert technical and policy guidance to stakeholders, including well drillers and local government officials
• Review well construction applications and ensure compliance with state monitoring well construction rules
• Develop and coordinate policies in line with Department, State, and Federal groundwater laws and regulations

• Education, training, or experience related to hydrogeology, geology, or hydrology
• Training or experience in well construction and pump installation methods
• Experience working on projects related to the fate and transport of contaminants in groundwater
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet State of Wisconsin Fleet Vehicle Policy requirements
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check

• Experience interpreting hydrostratigraphy and its impact on groundwater quality and quantity
• Familiarity with statutes and administrative codes relevant to the DNR Drinking Water and Groundwater program
• Ability to interpret spatial and temporal patterns in groundwater data using GIS and statistical analysis software
