Field Application Scientist – Next Generation Sequencing – Southwest

The Field Application Scientist – NGS provides technical field support for IDT’s xGen/NGS customers, collaborates with Sales to identify and support potential/existing customers, and works cross‑functionally to prioritize customer requirements for future NGS product development. This role services the Southwest area:
SoCal, AZ, NM, TX.

• Provide technical field support for IDT NGS customers, including experimental design and troubleshooting.
• Represent IDT’s products to the molecular biology community at large, including presentations of established technologies at industry trade shows.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Applications Support, Customer Care and Sales to identify key customer requirements for future product development efforts.
• Work closely with Marketing and Sales to ensure the value of the NGS product line is communicated clearly and effectively to customers.
• Maintain strong working relationships within Research, Manufacturing, Marketing, Product Management and Product Development, Customer Support and Sales.

• Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Biology, Chemistry, Bioinformatics or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in wet lab and NGS instruments, their workflows, troubleshooting and outputs required.
• Experience with public speaking and presentation experience.
• Experience troubleshooting various library preparation methods and targeted enrichment processes required.

• Up to 50% flying and/or driving travel, including overnight stays. Travel will primarily be domestic but may occasionally be international.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

• Masters or PhD degree preferred.
• Experience with in the genomics industry.
• Experience working with Sales or commercial organizations/teams.

The annual salary range for this role is $85,000.00–$. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
