Technical Sales Engineer / Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager

Company: UK market leaders in Chrome Carbide abrasion and impact resistant industrial materials including hard‑faced plate, plate fabrications, overlay services, refurbishing components and welding consumables.

Chrome Carbide abrasion and impact resistant industrial materials including hard‑faced plate, plate fabrications, overlay services, refurbishing components and welding consumables.

Location:

Covering whole of UK. Home based with periodic visits to UK Head Office. UK wide locations suitable.

Salary package:

Basic circa £50k + commission + company car + range of other benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Sell comprehensive range of abrasion and impact resistant hard‑faced Chrome Carbide plate fabrications into a wide variety of sectors, including traditional industrial applications in steel, cement and glass, as well as new areas such as recycling, power generation and waste‑to‑energy sector.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, provide solution‑based selling, and conduct field sales activities.
  • Develop and execute business development strategies and account management plans.
  • Create sales forecasts and actively work towards achieving them.
  • Pitch sales and products to new and existing clients.
  • Provide excellent customer service, maintaining high level of integrity and building long‑term relationships.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to expand reverse engineering and refurbishment services to upgrade plant equipment and enhance component life.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience selling abrasion‑resistant material solutions into high‑wear industries via fabrications, machined and refurbished solutions.
  • Preferably have metallurgical working knowledge of Chrome Carbide / abrasion‑resistant steel.
  • Previous engineering experience to support reverse engineering and refurbishment services.
  • Technical skills to understand and propose products or solutions to meet client requirements.
  • Previous experience in a Technical Sales / Sales Engineer role in a related industry preferred; also considered for candidates with good technical and industry experience moving into a more sales‑focussed position.
  • Experience selling into key target sectors such as steel, cement, glass, mining, quarrying, recycling, power generation and waste‑to‑energy sector.
  • Self‑motivated with excellent time management skills and ability to multitask.
  • Strategic and creative mindset to successfully reach new business opportunities, new markets and new clients.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
