About The JobThe Professional Turf Account Manager strives to develop and maintain strong business relationships with current and potential customers through sales calls, face-to-face meetings and associated travel throughout the United States. The Professional Turf Manager is strongly motivated with a positive attitude. This position works directly with customers, providing a high level of service and product information. Participation in trade shows and other related activities in a professional manner will be part of the job, while striving to make new relationships with potential customers.
The position requires collaboration in developing a sales and marketing program that includes advertising, promotions, new initiatives and sales calls in a professional manner. The Professional Turf Specialist is a driven, reliable, honest, friendly individual who will be an asset to our company and sales team. Collaboration with others and ability to provide input for continuous improvement is key.
- Maintain relationships with existing customers/key accounts through regular visits across the United States.
- Visit potential new customers to promote products.
- Develop brand marketing programs for individual customers.
- Staff trade exhibitions and customer field days as needed.
- Assist in implementation of company marketing plans including the strategic plan.
- Participate with sales management and grower services staff to develop shipping requirements for seasonal demands.
- Develop sales budgets each year, and update with new forecast numbers as needed with the sales manager.
- Coordinate with our R&D and Product Management departments to plan for future varieties specific to customer needs.
- Participate in development of new product needs and understand future customer needs (program or standard).
- Associates Degree or higher.
- Knowledge and experience in the seed industry or allied industries.
- 3+ years of similar experience in increasingly responsible roles.
- Excellent verbal, written, listening and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, prioritization skills and follow-up skills with attention to detail.
- Proven ability to achieve sales targets.
- Personal, positive, yet competitive personality.
- Self-directed, performance-driven personality, with a team player mentality.
- Willingness to travel as needed (30-40%)
- Comfort with new software and technology.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Bachelors Degree or higher.
- Agronomy or Turfgrass Management degree
- 5+ years of quality green industry sales experience.
DLF USA Inc. offers a compensation plan that includes a base salary, benefits that include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, bonus available, retirement savings plan with company contribution, paid holidays, vacation, and personal days. Compensation will be based on experience.
