The Market Support Representative (MSR) is a dedicated resource for brokers and customers in a defined market/territory. This role works closely with the Sales Executive and Account Management team to provide a simple, powerful experience. The position focuses on pre/post‑sale needs of customers, directly impacting new business sales, persistency, and the growth of the block of business. The MSR builds relationships at the broker and customer level and serves as a direct contact to meet their needs.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing
- Establishes and maintains productive, professional relationships with assigned customers and brokers.
- Collaborates with Distribution and internal partners to meet customer expectations and provide value‑added solutions, managing growth and persistency objectives.
- Partners with Sales, Executive, and Account Manager on renewal preparation, strategy, and delivery.
- Ensures timely and accurate delivery of all renewals; maintains all renewal documentation and actions.
- Assists in pipeline management within Salesforce (CRM).
- Utilizes Salesforce to manage all service requests, ensuring all relevant customer and broker activities are clearly documented.
- Works with the Implementation team to ensure new groups are activated and broker/client expectations achieved.
- Takes ownership of all service‑related requests, following up through completion and confirmation to meet customer and internal SLA expectations. Service requests include product/policy questions, administrative changes, billing concerns, claims inquiries, enrollment completion, customer education, and general account management support.
- Proactively communicates with customers, guiding and educating them on available tools and resources for future needs by understanding our product portfolio.
- Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with the Account Manager and Sales Executive as well as other internal partners.
- Understands and clearly explains the value of Equitable, our business partnerships, and the strength of our products.
- May provide proactive outreach calls to educate clients and brokers on Equitable’s administrative policies and the EB360 portal after implementation.
- Provides sales support by managing RFP inventory and the Proposal Process, reviewing RFP data and partnering with SE and Underwriting to underwrite and release proposals.
- Partners with underwriting to ensure proposals are on track to meet due dates.
- Stays up to date on market changes that impact clients and consults on how Equitable may support their changing needs.
This position offers a flexible work schedule: it may be fully remote or hybrid. If located near one of our offices (e.g., Charlotte, NC; New York, NY; Syracuse, NY), a hybrid schedule with 2–3 days on‑site per week is expected to foster collaboration and connection.
The base salary range for this position is $47,000 – $67,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable offers performance‑based compensation—including base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short‑term incentive opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

What You Will Bring- College degree or commensurate experience.
- Ability to work with various internal partners and support the account management team.
- Some account management background.
- Highly organized with excellent written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with large volumes of work tasks.
- Microsoft Office experience, especially Excel.
