Summary:
The Military Sales Representative is responsible for identifying, developing, and expanding sales opportunities within U.S. military branches including the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM), and other Department of Defense (DoD) units. This role promotes Point Blank Enterprises’ ballistic protection solutions, tactical gear, and mission‑critical equipment through strategic business development, strong customer relationships, and effective sales management. The representative ensures PBE is positioned as a trusted partner for law enforcement and military communities both domestically and internationally.
Military & DoD Sales
- Develop and execute market strategies to increase PBE’s presence within DoD communities, including USMC, SOCOM, and other service branches.
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers at military units, installations, and acquisition offices.
- Manage and expand distributor agreements to increase sales at the unit and installation level.
- Serve as the capture manager for DoD proposal processes, including preparing written quotes and proposals.
- Conduct professional sales presentations and product demonstrations for military personnel and acquisition officials.
- Provide feedback to executive leadership on military market trends, customer requirements, and competitive intelligence.
- Support engineering and product development teams with special requests to meet military customer needs.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of NIJ and Military First Article Test Body Armor standards.
General Responsibilities
- Attend trade shows, industry events, and military conferences (minimum of four annually).
- Train distributors and agency personnel on PBE products to ensure proficient knowledge and sales capability.
- Track sales activities, pipeline status, and customer interactions in CRM systems.
- Prepare and submit monthly sales forecasts, plans, and reports to the EVP for DoD Business Operations.
- Provide ongoing customer support, including training, product updates, and issue resolution.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends within government and military sectors.
- Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies, ITAR regulations, and government procurement guidelines.
Education & Experience:
- Must be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual).
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Criminal Justice, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in government, military, or defense‑related sales, business development, or government contracting.
- Working knowledge of DoD acquisition and procurement procedures strongly preferred.
- Experience working with federal, state, and local agencies is a plus.
- Familiarity with ballistic protection, tactical gear, or defense‑related products.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to understand technical product specifications and translate them into customer value.
- Excellent negotiation, problem‑solving, and strategic planning abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid state driver’s license and ability to travel extensively (up to 50%).
