This role aligns to industry-level titles such as Country Sales Manager - Wales
, Regional Sales Manager

, or Country Sales Lead
.

Location: Home-based (field-based role across Wales)

The Role

This is more than a sales role - it's a strategic leadership opportunity in one of the UK's most important education markets.

As Country Manager for Wales, you will represent Pearson at the highest levels, building trusted relationships with key stakeholders including Welsh Government bodies, colleges, and sector partners. You'll position Pearson as the partner of choice for vocational qualifications, helping institutions navigate policy change and deliver meaningful outcomes for learners.

In your first six months, you'll establish a strong regional strategy, deepen relationships with priority accounts, and build a high-quality pipeline aligned to national and Welsh policy priorities.

What makes this role different? You'll operate with real autonomy and influence. You won't simply respond to demand - you'll shape conversations, identify new opportunities, and help drive Pearson's long-term growth strategy in Wales.

What You'll Own

This role is about strategic growth and regional leadership.

You will:

  • Develop and execute a clear territory strategy for Wales
, aligned to Pearson's UK vocational growth plans.
  • Build, manage, and convert a strong B2B sales pipeline
, from prospecting through to negotiation and close.
  • Engage senior stakeholders across government, regulatory bodies, and colleges, positioning Pearson as a trusted strategic partner.
  • Represent Pearson at regional events, policy forums, and sector conferences
, strengthening brand presence and influence.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, and Government Relations to ensure alignment with Welsh education priorities.
  • Lead key account management across Wales and selected England accounts
, maintaining high standards of service and partnership.

Success in this role means measurable revenue growth, strengthened institutional partnerships, and increased adoption of Pearson qualifications across Wales.

About You

You bring strong B2B sales experience, ideally within education, vocational qualifications, or public sector environments - and you understand the Welsh education landscape.

You're someone who:

  • Builds credibility quickly with senior leaders and policymakers.
  • Thrives in a consultative, relationship-led sales environment.
  • Is commercially driven, target-focused, and resilient.
  • Works independently with discipline and accountability.
  • Understands how policy, curriculum, and funding influence purchasing decisions.

You may already have experience engaging organisations such as Welsh Government, sector bodies, or further education providers. You combine commercial sharpness with a genuine commitment to learner outcomes.

What You'll Get

This is an opportunity to lead Pearson's growth strategy in Wales and influence the future of vocational education in the region.

You’ll:

  • Operate with autonomy and senior-level exposure.
  • Shape regional strategy and represent Pearson at influential forums.
  • Develop deep expertise in policy-led sales and public sector engagement.
  • Benefit from a competitive salary and Sales Incentive Plan.
  • Access professional development and career progression opportunities within a global organisation.
  • Car allowance.

At Pearson, our purpose is to help people realise the life they imagine through learning. In this role, your commercial success directly supports learners, institutions, and communities across Wales.
