Position: Technical Sales Engineer / Rep

Technical Sales Engineer / Rep required in Pretoria.

A very well establish Industrial Equipment & Engineering Solutions company is looking for a Technical Sales Engineer / Sales Representative to join their team on full time permanent basis in Pretoria. This is a remote role, with travel requirements to clients.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a technically strong and commercially driven Technical Sales Engineer / Sales Rep to promote and sell industrial equipment and engineered solutions to clients across various sectors.

The successful candidate will combine technical expertise with strong sales ability to identify client needs, recommend suitable solutions, and drive sustainable revenue growth. Training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Business Development
    • Identify and develop new business opportunities within assigned territory or industry sector.
    • Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers.
    • Conduct site visits to understand operational requirements and recommend appropriate equipment solutions.
    • Prepare and present technical proposals and quotations.
    • Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and close sales.
    • Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Technical Support & Solutions
    • Provide technical advice and product recommendations based on customer requirements.
    • Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering requirements.
    • Liaise with internal engineering and operations teams to ensure correct product configuration and delivery.
    • Assist with product selection, sizing, and system design where required.
    • Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations.
  • Market & Account Management
    • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing structures.
    • Provide regular sales forecasts and pipeline reports.
    • Identify cross‑selling and upselling opportunities.
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and after‑sales support.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in a similar Technical Sales position.
  • Industry experience within the plastic, automotive, machine manufacturing, engineering, manufacturing – sector.
  • Relevant qualification beneficial, but not compulsory.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Valid driver’s license, own transport and willingness to travel.
  • Remote office set‑up with PC and stable internet connection to work from home.
