The Role:
We are looking for our next Account Manager (Specialty Foods - West) within our Nutrition and Bioindustry Sales Team. The Account Manager will be responsible for developing and nurturing relationships within a diverse customer portfolio, identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, and delivering tailored solutions that drive growth and position Roquette as a trusted leader in the specialty food ingredients sector.
Through effective cross-functional collaboration and keen market insight, the Account Manager will play a pivotal role in achieving our commercial objectives and reinforcing our commitment to innovation and customer success.
The role will be primarily based in California, with travel supporting customers throughout the western USA, Canada, and the official business location in Geneva, IL.
Compensation:The current salary range for this role is estimated to be $,000. In addition, this position is eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation through our Sales Incentive Plan. The specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

- Act as the primary interface between customers and Roquette.
- Collaborate effectively with the various departments inside Roquette, including Technical Development, Customer Technical Support, Marketing, Supply Chain, etc.
- Identify and develop relationships with potential customers and new opportunities, while also maintaining relationships with existing customers.
- Create compelling value propositions for new customers.
- Input new opportunities into the sales pipeline.
- Convert new opportunities into successful sales.
- Manage and grow the existing customer portfolio.
- Achieve sales and variable margin targets for your portfolio.
- Lead and coordinate interactions with customers.
- Take charge of the negotiation process, from detection to final contract.
- Provide market intelligence, including market data and competitor insights.
- Represent Roquette in trade shows linked to the Food Ingredients industry.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans.
- Contribute to our Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SI&OP) process for Roquette customers.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field preferred, or equivalent Food and Beverage education.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a sales role in the specialty foods or ingredient industry.
- Passion for healthy nutrition and new gastronomy.
- Entrepreneurial self-starter with the ability to adapt to rapidly changing demands.
- Demonstrated proactive ability to build and manage relationships with customers, including startup customers.
- This role averages 50% travel and may fluctuate based on business needs, with the remainder spent in an office or home office setting.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to speak or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk, climb stairs, use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; work in hot, cold and loud environments.
- No limitations for domestic or international travel.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, CRM, and reporting systems.
- This is a full-time position.
- Days and flexible hours of work, including business travel, are required to meet customer and business needs.
- Capability to manage virtual interactions as needed.
