Business Development Manager - Western Canada Building Materials Industry | Home-Based

I'm currently partnering with one of my clients in the building materials space who is looking to bring on a Business Development Manager for Western Canada. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who truly understands the construction and building materials ecosystem and enjoys developing markets, building relationships, and making a real impact on growth.
This role offers strong autonomy, visibility with leadership, and the chance to grow an already respected product line across Western Canada.
The Role — What You'll Be Doing You'll be responsible for driving business development across BC through Manitoba, working closely with distribution partners while identifying new opportunities with contractors, builders, architects, designers, and key industry influencers.
This is very much a relationship-driven role where you'll:
- Develop and expand distributor partnerships
- Actively grow territory sales and market share
- Deliver product training and presentations (job site to boardroom)
- Identify new business opportunities and conversion targets
- Participate in trade shows, contractor events, and industry activities
- Provide market feedback, competitive insights, and sales reporting
- Travel about 40-50% overnight across the region
What They're Looking For
- Strong relationships with contractors, builders, architects, designers, or distribution networks
- Proven ability to grow a territory and generate new business
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Solid business acumen and strategic mindset
- Self-driven, hands-on, and comfortable working remotely
- Fluent English required (French is a nice asset)
- deally based in Calgary or Edmonton (flexible for the right person)
- Valid driver's licence required
- Base salary around $90-100K + commission + Annual bonus structure
- Vehicle allowance + mileage reimbursement
