Siltech Corporation, a Canadian owned global provider of organo-functional silicone specialties, is looking to hire immediately a Sales Manager for industrial products in the Mid-West region of the United States. The successful candidate would work from his/her home office ideally in Minnesota (MN) or Wisconsin (WI).
This opportunity offers a very competitive salary, pension and benefits package including a sales incentive.
Reporting to the Industrial Team Marketing Director, the Sales Manager will prospect, sell products and develop markets and new products in various industrial applications. These include CASE, Pulp and Paper, Automotive, Construction, Metal Working, Mould Telease and other industrial applications. Personal Care and Polyurethane Foam accounts will not be included.
Duties and Responsibilities- Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current and prospective customers in the geographic territory and market segments to maintain existing and generate new business for Siltech’s products.
- Promotes/sells/secures orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach.
- Demonstrates products to existing and potential customers and assists them in selecting those best suited to their needs.
- Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
- Maintains the first point of contact for customer problems and complaints. Expedites their resolution.
- Coordinates sales efforts with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and technical service groups.
- Supplies management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
- Travels for sales calls, attends trade shows and other networking opportunities.
- Works with other Sales Managers in a team focused approach.
- Documents all quotes, meetings, sales calls and correspondence in CRM system.
- Keeps abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature. Uses this knowledge to identify and pursue new marketing opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum 5 years of experience selling specialty silicones for Industrial Applications and R&D expertise.
- Chemistry or Chemical Engineering degree required.
- Ability to work productively with technical teams.
- Effective oral and written communication, with strong listening skills.
- Ability to travel for sales calls, trade shows and other networking.
- Customer and market focus. Aware and self-motivated.
- Visionary and strategic, able to perceive growth opportunities.
- Driven to successfully convert business opportunities into profit and value.
