Technical Sales Specialist – Scotland – Industrial Electrical Control and Automation

Overview

On behalf of our Client, we are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Engineer with a proven track record as a business developer and excellent salesman in the Industrial Electrical Control and Automation sector. This field‑based role involves visiting customer sites and premises, spending 1‑2 days from either the home office or the company office.

Responsibilities
  • Sell a range of high‑quality Industrial Automation products and solutions (PLC, control gear, drives, sensors, HMI, process instrumentation and Ex equipment) to an industrial sector customer base that includes OEMs, end users, system integrators and panel builders across Scotland.
  • Work Monday to Friday during normal office hours, with the flexibility required for external sales and road travel.
  • Achieve defined sales targets and develop a personal plan to meet objectives.
  • Manage and further develop an existing portfolio of accounts while continually identifying new avenues of business.
  • Utilise induction and ongoing training to enhance sales and technical expertise.
  • Promote from within and be prepared to develop into other roles as they arise.
Qualifications
  • Sales and technical experience in the Industrial Automation industry with a record of sales success and achievement.
  • Proven track record as a business developer and excellent salesman in the sector.
  • Formal qualification in an electrical/electronic discipline (ONC/HND or above) desirable but not essential; knowledge and sales ability must be demonstrable.
  • Preferable further career development training to enhance sales skills.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, effective team player, autonomy, and capability with Microsoft packages.
