Reports to: VP Sales & Marketing
Position Summary:
The Territory Manager is responsible for sales activity within a designated geographic region, or an identified customer list as determined by management. This role increases company sales revenue and gross profitability by generating unit and parts sales within the sales geography. The TM grows product offering awareness through effective sales coverage and engaging with current and potential customers. The TM works closely with the VP of Sales & Marketing to develop sales initiatives and strategies to attain annual budget targets.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Target customers: Municipal end user’s (cities, towns, counties) and contractors (excavator & bobcat operators) within your area of responsibility
- Identifies, researches, qualifies and pursues leads; calls on existing and new potential customers; responds to customer enquiries; negotiates transaction within limits of authority; and completes sales orders to meet revenue and gross margin targets
- Maintains business relationships with existing customers, while developing new relationships with potential accounts
- Covers the sales geography and visits customers on a regular basis, including customers that have not previously purchased from Promac Equipment
- Collaborates with customers to understand needs and provide solutions
- Follows-up with all completed sales to ensure the customer is satisfied with their purchasing experience from Promac Equipment
- Maintains Promac Equipment’s customer profile records in a timely and accurate manner, including maintaining the sales territory pipeline within Pipedrive CRM.
- Keeps informed of competitive activity, products, and market conditions while communicating market intelligence back to appropriate Promac Sawmill team members and management
- Travels and attends trade shows and other industry events as required
Experience & Skills
Experience:
- 3-5 years in a outside sales position having developed significant internal and external relationships
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Bilingual would be an asset, but not required
- Strong knowledge of the equipment industry is ideal, however, willing to train the right candidate
- Mechanical aptitude
- An entrepreneurial mind; A driver of sales and business development
- Ability to use software applications (ex. Microsoft Office, web-based applications)
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills a necessity
Expectations of the Role:
Travel/Remote Office TBD based on the needs of the AOR
Weekly CRM Sales Calls:
Minimum 50 Prospecting Phone Calls
Monthly CRM Sales Calls:Minimum 200 Prospecting Phone Calls
Compensation:
- Commissions: 10% of unit & parts sales gross profit
- OTE: $90, Year 1, with greater earning potential over time
- $750/month truck allowance
- Cell Phone, laptop
- Credit card for all expenses including fuel
