The Terry Smith Agency – Farmers Insurance is an award-winning agency with a proven process, strong leadership, and a high-performance culture. We are hiring a fully remote Licensed Insurance Producer to sell Michigan personal lines and Life insurance.
This role is built for closers
. You’ll be expected to execute daily activity, manage your pipeline, and produce consistent results. This is a performance-driven remote role with clear scorecards and high standards — remote here means focused execution, not a lighter workload. - A large database of leads and daily live inbound sales calls
- A proven sales process, training, and coaching to help you convert at a high level
- The systems and support needed to sell efficiently in a structured remote environment
- Base pay: $30,000–$40,000 (starting range)
- P&C commission: tiered based on performance, up to 10% of written premium, and uncapped
- Life commission: 40% of written premium (Life sales required)
- Top performers: ~$80,000+
- Meeting expectations: ~$62,000+
- (Earnings vary based on execution, activity, close rate, and Life production.)

Mon-Fri Schedule
- Quote, present, and close new business across Auto/Home and additional lines through consultative phone sales
- Confidently ask for the sale, overcome objections, and guide prospects to a decision
- Make consistent outbound calls to work leads and follow-up while also answering inbound live sales calls daily
- Execute daily pipeline management: follow-ups, re-quotes, and closing activities
- Drive bundling and full household protection (not just single-policy quoting)
- Consistently produce Life insurance (required in this role)
- Document accurately in agency systems; maintain clean notes, tasks, and follow-ups
- Stay compliant with underwriting guidelines, carrier rules, and agency processes
- Participate in training/coaching, implement feedback quickly, and improve week-over-week
- Must hold an active Property & Casualty (P&C) license (in good standing)
- Must be licensed in Michigan for P&C or be willing/able to obtain Michigan licensing quickly
- Must hold a Life license or be willing to obtain it quickly (Life sales required)
- Proven sales experience (phone sales strongly preferred)
- Must be comfortable making high-volume outbound calls and handling inbound live sales calls
- Strong closing ability: comfortable asking for commitment and handling objections (price, “shopping,” “call me back,” etc.)
- Ability to show a proven track record of success (quota attainment, rankings, revenue, awards, or measurable results)
- Self-directed, organized, and accountable—able to produce in a structured remote environment
- Reliable remote setup: dedicated workspace, strong internet, professional phone presence, consistent communication during working hours
