Our WA portfolio Includes Buddies, BFF, Besties, Mindmelt, Headies, and Fire & Ice; spanning cartridges, all-in-ones, dabs, rosin and topicals.
Role SummaryYou'll own and grow a territory of licensed retailers in Eastern Washington (Wenatchee, Yakima, Tri-Cities, Pullman, Spokane), increasing revenue, distribution, and shelf share for the Buddies portfolio. The role blends a proactive entrepreneurial mentality with long-term account management, in-store activation, and tight compliance with WA cannabis rules.
What You'll Do- Build, expand, and retain a book of retail accounts; prospect new stores and re-activate dormant ones.
- Consistently hit/exceed monthly sales targets; maintain a clear pipeline, forecast, and weekly activity cadence.
- Present the Buddies line to buyers and train staff/bud tenders; execute vendor days and in-store education.
- Merchandise for visibility and sell-through (placements, facings, promos, POS).
- Use data to drive orders leveraging retail analytics (Headset) and participate in VMI-style programs where appropriate.
- Coordinate with operations on inventory, timely deliveries, and promo execution; submit accurate reports and account notes for the companies CRM.
- Represent Buddies at trade shows, vendor events, and community activities.
- Work all parts of the sales cycle: research & preparation (utilizing Headset, social media, and industry connections), initial outreach & connection (cold emails, calls and in store visits), qualification & discovery, product sampling & brand value demonstration, follow-ups & pipeline building (utilizing company CRM), closing of sales; and advancing the brand in store.
- Operate in strict alignment with WA cannabis regulations and retailer policies.
Must-Haves
- 21+ with valid driver's license; ability to travel statewide.
- 1+ years of cannabis sales experience
- Strong territory planning, prospecting, and relationship-building skills; clear written/verbal communication.
- Working vehicle.
- Working knowledge of WA cannabis market dynamics and a willingness to learn regulations.
- Existing network of WA retail buyers and category leads.
- Familiarity with retail analytics tools (Headset, POSaBIT) and vendor-managed-inventory workflows.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and CRM hygiene.
Physical Requirements
- Work is split: ~70% remote work from home, ~30% on the road or in store.
- Ability to attend 2 & 3 day trade shows staying overnight once a quarter.
- Ability to speak in public & write clearly over email.
- Willingness to listen closely, ask informed questions, and negotiate to advance Buddies in store presence.
- Lift 20-30lbs for order or sample deliveries.
- Competitive base + uncapped commission structure (1% of sales).
- We support our sales reps with budgets for media, travel, training, and reimbursements for out of pocket expenses while representing the brand.
