Who We Are:

Homeowners Financial Group has over 300 employees in 41 offices across the country and has helped tens of thousands of homeowners realize home ownership. We are not your typical mortgage company: we foster a “family” environment, we give back to the community through dozens of charities and we love what we do!

Position Summary:

This isn’t just another LOA job. This is your shot to work alongside Jess Uphoff, one of the highest-ranked female loan originators in the country and be part of The Concierge Team; a powerhouse branch that’s been #1 in Homeowners Financial Group 6 out of the last 7 months in 2025.

We consistently close over $100 million in business every year, which means two things:

  • You’ll be busy (in the best way possible).
  • Your income will be steady and reliable.
  • We work from home, we value work-life balance, and we believe in a work hard, play hard culture. If you love the operational side of lending, thrive under pressure, and want to be part of a fun, high-performance team, you’ll fit right in.

    Why this role matters

You’ll be Jess’s right hand (and sometimes her left), making sure every file is on track, every detail is dialed in, and every client gets an exceptional experience. You’ll have the autonomy to run point on a lot of moving parts while knowing you’ve got the full support of a team that’s got your back.

    Essential Duties
    • This is a fully remote position
    • Keep multiple files moving through origination, processing, underwriting, and closing. On time, every time
    • Evaluate loan scenarios to match borrowers with the right product
    • Work directly with borrowers, agents, and partners, keeping everyone informed and confident
    • Review, prep, and package complete loan applications
    • Spot potential issues early and solve them before they become problems
    • Calculate income (yes, even the tricky self-employed stuff)
    • Review credit and look for improvement opportunities when needed
    • Lock loans when directed and ensure all compliance boxes are checked
    • Maintain accurate, up-to-date files in Encompass
    • Jump in on marketing and relationship-building efforts when needed
    • Do all of the above while keeping your cool, staying organized, and having a little fun along the way
    • Participates in Homeowners internal meetings and required trainings
    • Maintains a professional image and demonstrates an understanding of and follows all Homeowners Policies and Procedures
    • Other duties as assigned
    Requirements Qualifications
    • Active NMLS license (non-negotiable)
    • 3+ years in mortgage lending (processing, origination, title, escrow, or underwriting)
    • A knack for juggling a high-volume pipeline without dropping the ball
    • Strong knowledge of FNMA, FHA, VA, RD, and SAFE Act guidelines
    • Comfort with Encompass, Optimal Blue, DU, LP, and Microsoft Office
    • A problem-solver who anticipates needs and takes initiative
    • Someone who loves being the go-to person to make sure nothing slips through the cracks
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong customer service skills to internal and external customers
    • Ability to develop positive relationships
    • Exceptional organization and time management skills
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Must be able to implement written procedures
    • Independent, self-starting, team player with a…
