Position: Regional Account Manager (RAM) - Territory Based
Location: Andrews

Overview

Dock Star Industrial is seeking a results-driven
Regional Account Manager (RAM)to develop and manage a defined sales territory, building profitable relationships with end users, general contractors, and third-party developers. As a commissioned outside sales professional, you will drive revenue growth through consultative selling, territory development, and strategic account management. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Territory Development: Own and cultivate a defined geographic territory, identifying and pursuing opportunities with end user customers, general contractors, developers, and design-build firms in the loading dock and material handling space.
  • Relationship Building: Establish trust-based relationships with key decision-makers including facility managers, purchasing agents, contractors, and project managers. Conduct on-site visits, product demonstrations, and consultative needs assessments.
  • Sales Execution: Generate and close new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, lead follow-up, proposal development, and contract negotiation. Leverage CRM tools to manage pipeline, forecast sales, and document activity.
  • Coordination with Sales Support Team: Provide necessary order documentation, clearly communicate scope of work and project details, and timely communication with the Sales Support Team to ensure customer service is at exceptional levels to facilitate return customers.
  • Subcontractor Network Development: Identify, recruit, and maintain relationships with qualified Dock Star-authorized installation and service subcontractors within your territory to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaboration with Inside Sales: Partner with the Inside Sales team to qualify inbound leads, schedule appointments, and maximize conversion rates. Provide feedback and market intelligence to support lead generation and marketing efforts.
  • Product Expertise: Serve as a technical resource for customers, recommending appropriate dock leveler, vehicle restraint, seal, and shelter solutions based on operational requirements and compliance standards.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed on competitive landscape, industry trends, construction activity, and regional market dynamics. Report insights to leadership to refine sales strategy and product positioning.
Desired Qualifications
  • 5+ years of proven outside sales experience in industrial equipment, construction products, material handling, or related B2B sectors.
  • Demonstrated track record of exceeding sales targets in a territory or account management role.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills with ability to engage C-suite and operational stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with ability to work independently and manage time effectively across a broad geography.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (Hub Spot, Salesforce, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within assigned territory (up to 75% travel).

Location and Schedule

  • Occasional travel to Dock Star HQ in Andrews, SC for training, planning sessions, and company events.
