REGIONAL SALES DIRECTOR - CHARTWELLS HE - WEST (REMOTE)

Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services is seeking an experienced Regional Sales Director for the Western U.S. (Mountain or Pacific Time Zone). The role reports to the National Vice President of Sales and focuses on profitable new business growth in the higher education market.

Salary: $115,000 - $125,000 + commissions

Location:

Ideal candidate will live in the Mountain or Pacific Time Zone

Territory: AZ, CA, NV, UT, OR, WA, , MN, WY, AK, HI

Travel:
Extensive (up to 75% travel within the territory)

Job Summary

Compass Group’s Chartwells Higher Education market seeks a high‑level individual contributor who hunts new opportunities, builds strategic relationships, and directs the sales process in collaboration with operating partners. This is not a team‑management role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strong sales and sales‑related function skills and commitment to Compass Sales Process
  • Effective written and oral communication, including presentations
  • Multi‑tasking, prioritization, and time management
  • Exceed annual new business target/quota
  • Cold calling, prospecting, networking, and discipline to develop markets
  • Identify necessary support resources to successfully close new business
  • Use of CRM, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
  • High energy, positive attitude, and excellent communication/presentation skills
Qualifications
  • BA or equivalent experience
  • Authentic new business hunter
  • Experience building strategic relationships in a long‑term, complex sales process
  • 5+ years sales experience; preferred 80%+ new‑business focus
  • Track record of consistently exceeding sales quotas and targets
  • Ability to develop winning proposals and respond to complex RFPs
  • Logical thinker with common‑sense approach
  • High energy level, executive presence, and potential for advancement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Motivated to earn well over $150K
  • Up to 75% travel within the territory
  • Strong computer skills and CRM database management
  • High personal accountability, integrity, and emotional intelligence
  • Ability to adapt and build relationships with diverse personalities (including education market prospects)
