The Role
Ryan Transportation and Shamrock are looking for a Carrier Sales Representative. This sales position is responsible for establishing and managing a network of truckload and LTL providers within the United States and Canada. The Carrier Sales Representative will focus on prospecting, cold calling and qualifying new carrier accounts for Ryan Transportation. An ideal candidate will be self‑motivated with an outgoing, ambitious and dynamic sales personality.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Solicit new carriers to join our carrier network
- Develop long‑term relationships with shippers and carriers
- Build and manage existing carrier network to ensure we can meet the needs of shipping customers
- Continually work on improving customer service, transit times and transportation costs
- Coordinate logistics activity, including scheduling arrival dates and delivery appointments
- Track and trace orders for each load in our system and complete all load‑related paperwork
- Actively participate in transportation bids for current and prospective clients
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management or related field preferred
- Demonstrated success in a proactive sales environment
- Strong relationship building and negotiation skills
- Excellent customer service and problem‑solving skills
- Detail oriented with analytical and technical skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Proven ability to multitask and thrive in a fast‑paced environment
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to cross‑sell services across all brands
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
