Solution Sales Executive II – Remote
Join Optum’s expanding Payer sales team to drive accuracy and compliance for payment integrity software and services. The role is fully remote across the United States (travel 30‑50%) with a requirement to work in the office four days a week for Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area hires.

Primary Responsibilities- Identify, promote, and sell Optum’s payment integrity solutions to regional and mid‑market health plan accounts.
- Manage a portfolio of assigned payer accounts, focusing on higher transaction volume and administrative strength.
- Build and maintain active relationships with internal teams and external clients, collaborating with growth and regional market teams.
- Represent Optum at industry conferences and events.
- Develop a thorough understanding of assigned products, obtain required certifications, and maintain Salesforce and pipeline hygiene.
- Achieve sales quotas through closing multi‑million‑dollar new business contracts.
- Leverage AI tools to enhance the sales process and coordinate outreach with other departments.
- Attend trainings and meetings to stay current on products and industry trends.
- 5+ years of payer sales experience with proven multi‑million‑dollar quota attainment.
- Experience selling software solutions or clinical services and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
- Strong administrative and metrics‑driven focus.
- Ability to build long‑term client relationships and tailor offerings to client needs through compelling proposals.
- Self‑starter who works autonomously and adapts quickly in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel 30‑50%.
- Payment integrity industry experience or knowledge.
- Experience with large provider groups, Medicare, and Medicaid regulatory environments.
- Proven ability to leverage AI tools in sales processes.
- Remote work adherence to United Health Group’s Telecommuter Policy.
Salary range: $75,000 to $160,000 annually, plus performance bonuses. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, equity stock purchase, 401(k) contribution, and incentive and recognition programs.
