Virtual Sales Engineer (VTS) - Southwest (Remote)

Join Leybold as a Virtual Sales Engineer! You will be the single point of contact for customers in open territories, driving sales, and re-engaging lapsed accounts. This role offers a hybrid work model after training, an inclusive culture, and robust benefits while shaping service success. Reporting to the Customer Success/Virtual Sales Manager, you will facilitate seamless interactions between sales and technical teams to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the principal liaison for customers engaged in pre- and post-sale activities.
  • Own designated territory, re-engage lapsed service customers, drive revenue, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customers, guiding them through the sales process and providing timely and accurate information on offerings.
  • Collaborate with outside sales personnel to ensure comprehensive support across all service lines.
  • Follow up on leads from marketing efforts and provide requested quotes for the Service Business Line.
  • Deliver a general overview of all Service Products and demonstrate product benefits to potential clients.
  • Proactively manage the open territory and revitalise relationships with lapsed service customers to boost sales initiatives.
  • Work with applications and tech support teams to propose tailored product alternatives that meet customer needs.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling Leybold products, including field services and service contracts.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency across service lines.
  • Promote sustainable practices by reducing commuting where possible.
  • Maintain meticulous customer databases and document all interactions in the CRM system.
  • Develop professional networks through lab and factory visits to deepen understanding of operations and products.
  • Uphold Leybold’s culture that supports early-career professionals and aligns with company values.
  • Utilize in-office support during training to accelerate learning and adaptation.
  • Complete additional duties as directed by management.
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in technical sales, business development, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or another technical field, with relevant business or marketing knowledge.
  • Experience with vacuum equipment or technical product sales is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CRM applications preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite for daily tasks.
  • Strong customer-centric approach and ability to thrive in a collaborative, dynamic team.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and attention to detail; adaptable and a good teammate.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic, eager to learn and grow within the organization.
  • Fluency in Spanish is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.

This position offers remote work; however, in-office presence is required during the initial training period at the Export, PA facility. After training, the role transitions to fully remote.
