Role:
Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing a team of Technical Sales Representatives and Territory Sales Managers in the Boston area. This role ensures profitable growth in sales and revenue through planning, execution, and management of a supportive team. This position reports to the Senior Director of Sales East America and is part of the East AMR Sales Team, working remotely to cover Boston;
the role needs to be located in the Boston area.
- Supervises and directs staff including hiring, training, evaluations, and discipline, and ensures execution of sales duties.
- Provide sales forecasting, establish sales goals, and manage the pipeline for the Boston territory.
- Develop the sales strategy for the region: identify and organize the customer base, deploy strategy in the field, implement action plans, share information internally, and identify new business opportunities.
- Develop and execute the sales plan in key target segments: pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic.
- Demonstrate and uphold IDT core values and deliver the integrated IDT experience to customers and business partners.
- Position the company as the solution provider and customer advocate.
- Collaborate with Field Application Scientific team, Sales Specialist team, and Product Management to ensure sales targets are met.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences required;
Advanced degree in Life Sciences preferred. - Sales team leadership with a minimum of three years of exceeding sales targets in the $20M+ range for life sciences; genomic solutions strongly preferred.
- Must be in the field with the sales team a minimum of three days/week to partner, influence, and strategically steer the team to achieve revenue targets.
- Extensive familiarity with existing academic and corporate accounts in the Boston area is required.
- Experience working in a large Life Sciences organization with ability to navigate and manage corporate structure and expectations.
- Travel, motor vehicle, and physical/environment requirements as applicable.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel more than 50% of the time.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Sales team management experience in custom product and/or domains such as NGS, CRISPR, Synthetic Biology, or qPCR/dPCR.
The annual salary range is $190,000 to $210,000 plus a generous sales incentive bonus plan. This range is based on the information available at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. IDT, a Danaher operating company, offers comprehensive benefits. Remote work arrangements are available for eligible roles, with additional information provided by the interview team.
