Responsibilities
  • Business Risk Specialists are outside sales professionals responsible for generating new commercial insurance sales as well as additional One Group product offerings. Build and maintain a growing client roster while meeting sales and service standards with an emphasis placed on the quality of insurance solutions presented to the client.
  • Meet with and regularly and pro-actively review client needs.
  • Demonstrate technical selling skills and product knowledge in all areas and across other company services to provide clients with effective presentations of insurance solutions.
  • Understand and be able to sell consultatively and make recommendations to prospects based on their needs, not on availability of any specific products.
  • Use and maintain prospect and pipeline information within agency CRM.
  • Develop and maintain a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face-to-face cold calling on business owners, direct mail, email, and networking.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities.
  • Acquire detailed client information for submission for underwriting, pricing, and presentation, and seamlessly transition new accounts to the client service team.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
  • Attend regularly and actively participate in scheduled sales meetings, seminars and events.
  • Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all support departments and across all affiliated companies for the purpose of maximizing cross-marketing opportunities.
  • Participate in continuing education, self education and credentialing.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all training requirements in a timely manner.
Qualifications
  • To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferred.
  • Property/Casualty License Required.
  • If licensed, maintain Agent/Broker License through continuing education.
  • 3-5 years of proven successful sales or related experience, required.
  • Insurance sales experience, preferred.
  • Proven ability to achieve established sales quotas.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience using contact management software.
  • Working knowledge and competency in use of agency management system, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and other software as required by position.
  • Ability to use menu-driven software.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Assertive, self-starter.
  • Ability to influence others.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Must process a valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record.
