Inside Sales Representative - U.S. State and Local Government

Role SummaryThe Inside Sales Representative – U.S. State and Local Government will focus on building relationships, generating leads, and driving sales with state and local law enforcement agencies. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for prospective customers, understanding their operational needs and aligning SS8 solutions to support their missions. The ideal candidate is a proactive, organized, and persuasive sales professional experienced in working with state and local government clients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct outbound calls and virtual meetings with state and local law enforcement agencies to identify new sales opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with agency stakeholders, procurement officers, and local government partners.
- Understand agency missions, operational challenges, and procurement processes to develop tailored solutions and value propositions.
- Support proposal preparation, RFI/RFP responses, and other sales materials targeted to state and local agencies.
- Collaborate with internal teams—including technical, legal, operations, and marketing—to deliver compliant, effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting, reporting, and CRM documentation.
- Stay informed on state and local government procurement regulations, trends, and competitive intelligence.
- 3–5+ years of inside sales or business development experience, preferably with state and local government or law enforcement clients.
- Proven success in generating leads, building relationships, and meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Knowledge of state and local government procurement cycles, contract vehicles, and budget timelines preferred.
- Experience selling technology, software, or mission‑critical solutions is a plus.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Self‑motivated, organized, and able to work independently in a virtual environment.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
The expected base salary range for this position is $55,000 to $75,000, plus commission opportunities, with an expected total target compensation (OTE) range of $65,000 to $85,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications. Commission structure will be discussed during the hiring process. SS8 offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with company match, and paid time off.
