Smart Build Systems is the industry leader in design software for post‑frame, pole barns, garages, sheds, carports, and all‑metal structures. Simple enough for anyone to use, this web‑based software quickly generates a 3D model, material lists, pricing, proposals, and construction documents for almost any building.

The Smart Build Sales Representative is a full‑time remote position responsible for demonstrating the Smart Build software platform, managing inbound and outbound sales activity, and supporting prospective customers through the evaluation and purchasing process. This role requires strong product knowledge, consistent follow‑up, and the ability to present Smart Build in a clear, honest, and solutions‑focused manner.

Essential Functions
  • Demonstrate the Smart Build software to prospective customers through scheduled online presentations, highlighting features, workflows, and value specific to post‑frame construction.
  • Manage and qualify all incoming sales leads; document all outreach, follow‑up, and engagement activity in Hub Spot CRM.
  • Conduct proactive outreach to warm leads, dormant accounts, and targeted prospects to support pipeline growth.
  • Utilize Smart Build experience to answer general product questions and guide customers through early‑stage evaluation.
  • Properly evaluate situations as they arise and immediately handle quick‑hit implementation/support issues during the call, rather than escalating them. Hand off any more technical or complex support inquiries to the dedicated Support Team as necessary.
  • Apply construction knowledge—particularly post‑frame building experience—to accurately interpret customer needs and align Smart Build capabilities with their workflow.
  • Support the sales process by preparing quotes, coordinating next steps, and ensuring timely follow‑up.
  • Build upon or work towards improving relationships with existing customers. This is where knowledge of the industry will be essential to relate.
  • Recognize additional tasks that need to be done and be willing to help where additional resources are needed. Including but not limited to:
    Hub Spot cleanup, Software testing, Implementation support.
  • Participate in daily internal stand‑up meetings to align with Sales, Support, and Implementation teams.
  • Attend occasional trade shows, customer site visits, or industry events to represent Smart Build and support lead generation.
  • Maintain a professional, courteous, and consultative sales approach; avoid overselling or misrepresenting product capabilities to ensure long‑term customer success.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required

Education and Experience
  • 1–3 years of experience using Smart Build in an office or sales environment (required).
  • Experience demonstrating software or technology solutions to customers.
  • Experience using CRM systems such as Hub Spot for tracking leads, tasks, and communication.
  • Prior Smart Build implementation experience is strongly preferred.
  • 1–3 years of sales, customer service, or construction‑related experience.
  • Post‑frame construction knowledge is required; broader building or construction experience is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent follow‑
  • Highly organized, self‑motivated, and able to manage multiple leads and tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain customer confidentiality and represent Smart Build with professionalism and integrity.
  • Occasional travel required for trade shows, customer visits, or team events.

  • Kind, courteous, and consultative sales manner; not an aggressive or high‑pressure sales style.
  • Ability to present Smart Build honestly and accurately, avoiding overselling or misrepresenting features.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to understand customer workflows.
  • Coachable, team‑oriented, and comfortable collaborating across Sales, Support, and Implementation teams.
  • Proficiency in general computer skills and willingness to learn new systems and tools.
  • Yearly earnings at $80,000 to $120,000.
