Overview

Compression Technologies & Services is hiring an Area Sales Leader to develop business pipeline and long‑term strategy for sales growth in the South area. The sales manager will formulate and implement the sales strategy to grow overall revenue and market share, emphasizing coaching field sales engineers and supporting commercial business programs at the business unit level.

Responsibilities
  • Generate revenue growth through sales of industrial products, replacement components, and long‑term service agreements.
  • Lead and enable the sales team to achieve strategic goals related to revenue, profit, and market share.
  • Coach, counsel, train, and develop all sales employees; drive continuous improvement through performance management and mentoring programs.
  • Analyze target account requirements and develop penetration plans to increase market share and earn customer loyalty.
  • Stay current on market intelligence, develop relationships within the industry, and coordinate with marketing and other internal resources to resolve pricing, product specifications, and warranty issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 7+ years of sales experience.
  • Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months and no major traffic violations (e.g., DUI within the last 5 years, hit‑and‑run, license suspension, reckless driving).
Core Competencies
  • Excellent relationship‑building and interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, and presentation communication.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and manage a sales team, fostering a collaborative high‑performance culture.
  • Honest, self‑motivated, and team‑oriented.
  • Mechanical and electrical expertise required.
  • Ability to assess customer needs, analyze and interpret data, perform basic equipment performance calculations, and recommend technical solutions.
  • Proven business and sales acumen, including prospecting, navigating customer organizations, value selling, and winning competitive accounts.
  • Excellent prioritization and time‑management skills.
Preferences
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, business or equivalent from a four‑year college or university.
  • 7+ years of sales experience, preferably with a diverse product portfolio; industrial product sales is a plus.
  • 5+ years leading a team is preferred.
  • Tech savvy; knowledge of Salesforce preferred.
Travel & Work Arrangements
  • Occasional overnight travel required.
  • Remote position with 50‑60% travel; some overnight stays required.
  • Preferred residence in or near Greensboro, NC or Richmond, VA.
Pay Range

$120,000 – $150,000 (excluding incentive opportunities). Annual bonuses and incentive compensation may apply.
