Global Account Manager - Groups & Events
Purpose of the RoleThe Global Account Manager - Groups & Events will report to the Head of Sales, Sales Operations and Enablement and will play a key role in leading efforts to drive revenue growth across a portfolio of group and event accounts, building strong relationships with key clients and leveraging your expertise in hospitality and event management.
Your primary objective will be to identify opportunities for expansion, develop tailored sales strategies, and execute them effectively to maximize revenue and profitability. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional value and ensure long-term client loyalty.
The Global Account Manager - Groups & Events position will be home-based. Periodic travel within Canada and internationally may be required for conventions, client visits, and team meetings.
In addition, you must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Manage and nurture relationships with existing group and event clients, identifying opportunities for growth.
- Understand client needs and ensure satisfaction with Choice Hotels’ products and services.
- Monitor account performance, analyze trends, and develop strategies to maximize revenue from group and event bookings.
- Handle contract renewals and negotiate terms to maintain mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Address and resolve client concerns promptly and effectively.
- Conduct regular meetings and presentations to discuss account performance and opportunities for added value.
- Stay informed about industry trends and competitive landscape.
- Identify potential group and event clients through research, networking, and lead generation.
- Qualify leads and engage with prospects to understand their needs and position Choice Hotels as the preferred solution.
- Initiate contact through networking, industry events, and other channels, securing new business and nurturing high-potential prospects.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about trends and gather feedback to refine sales strategies.
- Educate potential accounts about Choice Hotels’ brands and offerings.
- Convert prospects into high-performing accounts to grow the corporate client base.
- Maintain accurate client information in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), including contracts, preferences, and activity history.
- Draft proposals and contracts, manage renewals, and negotiate agreements.
- Perform account planning, needs assessment, and relationship mapping.
- Develop and document account strategies and action plans to drive revenue.
- Prepare and conduct Quarterly Business Reviews and planning sessions.
- Ability to travel within Canada and internationally up to 25%–50%.
- Location near a major Canadian city and airport.
- BA/BS degree or 5+ years of relevant experience in group sales, event management, or hospitality.
