Virtual Sales Engineer (VTS) – Mid-West (Remote)

Join Leybold as a Virtual Sales Engineer! Be the single point of contact for customers, driving sales in open territories and re‑engaging lapsed accounts. Reporting to the Customer Success/Virtual Sales Manager, you will be instrumental in facilitating seamless interactions between our sales and technical teams to ensure we meet and exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the principal liaison for customers engaged in pre‑ and post‑sale activities.
  • Own your designated territory, including re‑engaging lapsed service customers to drive revenue and enhance satisfaction.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customers, guiding them through the sales process and ensuring timely, accurate information on our offerings.
  • Collaborate with outside sales personnel to provide comprehensive support and coverage of customer needs across all service lines.
  • Follow up on leads generated through marketing efforts and provide requested quotes for the Service Business Line.
  • Deliver a general overview of all Service Products and demonstrate benefits to potential clients.
  • Proactively manage open territory while revitalizing relationships with lapsed service customers to boost sales initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the applications and tech support teams to propose tailored product alternatives that align with customer needs.
  • Identify opportunities for cross‑selling additional Leybold products, including field services and service contract options.
  • Enhance overall satisfaction of our business lines through improved performance, leading to greater operational efficiency.
  • Promote sustainable practices by reducing commuting and reflecting our responsibility toward reducing the environmental footprint.
  • Maintain meticulous customer databases and thoroughly document all interactions and activities using our CRM system.
  • Develop professional networks by actively engaging in lab and factory visits, gaining deeper insight into our operations and products.
  • Uphold the company culture that nurtures early‑career professionals and aligns with our group’s values.
  • Leverage in‑office support during training for faster learning and adaptation to the role.
  • Complete additional duties as directed by management, demonstrating flexibility and a team‑oriented attitude.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience of 1‑3 years in technical sales, business development, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or another technical field, complemented by relevant business or marketing knowledge.
  • Experience with vacuum equipment or technical product sales is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CRM applications is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, are essential.
  • Proficient in using the MS Office suite for daily tasks.
  • Strong customer‑centric approach with ability to thrive in a collaborative, dynamic team environment.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking abilities and attention to detail.
  • Must be adaptable and a great teammate who can adjust to changing situations.
  • Self‑starter with a strong work ethic, eager to learn and grow within the organization.
  • Fluency in Spanish is an asset.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license is required.

Location:

The role offers a fully remote arrangement after a mandatory onboarding period at our Leybold USA Inc. facility in Export, PA. Training will be conducted on-site; afterward, the position will transition to remote work.
