Our client is seeking to hire a Business Development Manager to take over the Edinburgh and borders sales area, potentially also covering across to Carlisle. The role is for a generalist new business hard asset financier focusing on SME and SMB customers.
Your role is to identify, prospect and win new business – this can be direct sourced or dealer introduced but not broker driven.
As part of a prestigious major group, you will have access to own book funding and a huge panel of funders including tier 1 funders such as Lloyds & HSBC.
Typical rates to customers are 7–9% with profit margins around 2.5% of asset value.
Pay plan: 20% of income you generate each quarter. A threshold applies from quarter two onwards. Commission is paid at 20% back to zero once above the threshold.
After achieving your annual target you receive an additional 5% commission on your entire year's income paid at fiscal year end.
This opportunity provides 80% of the benefits of being an Authorised Representative at a super broker but without the risk of needing to be self‑employed or run your own Ltd company.
Volume and profit expectations are realistic. Typical earnings range from £120,000 to > £170,000 a year, with leading earners exceeding £300,000 in a single year.
Candidate ProfilePlease apply only if you meet the following criteria:
- Reside in the sales area, ideally local to Edinburgh with ability to travel across the area.
- Have a successful sales background in direct driven asset finance sales in the SME and SMB sectors.
- Can sell to customers at rates of 9.0% enabling you to generate £2,500 to £3,000 gross profit on a typical £100,000 deal.
- Have an existing customer base or at least some warm customer contacts to re‑leverage.
- Are a genuine self‑starter capable of working from home largely unsupervised.
- Have a real hunger for high, uncapped income and willingness to put in requisite hours to earn over £125,000 in year 1 and more quickly thereafter.
Regardless of your current role, you will be a genuine new business developer and self‑starter, building and maintaining relationships with customers and acting as MD of your own sales area.
