Salary: $115,000 – $125,000 + commissions

Location: Ideal candidate will live in the Mountain or Pacific Time Zone

Territory: AZ, CA, NV, UT, OR, WA, , MN, WY, AK, HI

Travel: Extensive

JOB SUMMARY

As a Regional Sales Director (New Business), you will be an organized self‑starter who hunts new opportunities and works independently. This high‑level individual contributor role builds strong relationships and directs the sales process in collaboration with operating partners. You will report to the National Vice President of Sales and be responsible for profitable market growth of new opportunities within the Chartwells Higher Education market.

The role is based in a major metro market near a major airport, preferably in the Mountain or Pacific Time Zone.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Strong sales and sales‑related function skills and commitment to the Compass Sales Process
  • Effective written and oral communication
  • Multitask and set priorities
  • Exceed annual new business target/quota
  • Cold calling, prospecting, networking, and market development discipline
  • Time management and territory development skills
  • Identify resources to successfully close new business
  • Computer skills including CRM, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
  • High energy, positive attitude, excellent communication and presentation skills
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Authentic new business hunter
  • Builder of strategic relationships with exposure to a longer 12+ month, complex sales process
  • 5+ years sales experience; preferred focus 80% or more on new business
  • A track record of consistently exceeding sales quotas and targets
  • Develop winning sales proposals and respond to complex RFPs
  • Logical thinking with a common‑sense approach
  • High energy, strong executive presence, and fit with organizational culture
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Motivated to earn >$150K
  • Up to 75% travel within the territory
  • Strong computer skills and CRM database management
  • Personal accountability, integrity, emotional intelligence
  • Ability to build relationships and adapt to diverse personalities (internal stakeholders and prospects), ideally in the education market
