JOB SUMMARY
The VP – Business Development is responsible for generating new business opportunities and expanding Exzeo’s client base. This role requires a hands‑on, sales‑oriented professional with a technical background who can engage prospects, deliver software demonstrations, and drive adoption of our solutions. This position focuses primarily on personal sales performance and relationship‑building.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Prospect, qualify, and engage new business opportunities through outbound calls, emails, and networking.
- Conduct live product demonstrations tailored to prospective client needs, highlighting software capabilities and business value.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of leads, tracking activity and progress in the CRM system.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Product, Marketing, Client Services) to ensure alignment on messaging, product capabilities, and client requirements.
- Provide feedback from clients and market insights to inform product development and business strategy.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and webinars as needed.
- Technical aptitude and ability to understand and explain software solutions.
- Experience in or knowledge of the insurance industry is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new client relationships and close deals.
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and standard sales tools.
- Must be able to travel (approximately 25–50%) to engage with clients, prospects, and strategic partners in support of business development initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, or related field.
- Prior experience in business development, sales, or client‑facing roles (5–8 years preferred).
- Experience working with or selling technology platforms or digital solutions is required, ideally within the insurance ecosystem.
To foster Exzeo’s commitment to creating a collaborative work environment, remote workers will be required to report to a central office location for one week every quarter for collaboration, team building, and educational exercises.
