Job Overview

National Account Manager - Key Accounts at SICK Sensor Intelligence. Remote-based sales position. Work from home office and conduct regular business travel to assigned accounts.

This role has primary sales responsibility for supporting and growing profitable SICK sales and market share within strategic industries at named accounts.

Mission of the Role

Deliver exceptional customer experience while driving solution selling and expanding market share through strategic account management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be the trusted technical advisor to customers. Introduce and sell SICK solutions and Lifetime Services to existing and new prospects to achieve goals and grow market share.
  • Use and accurately maintain the company’s CRM system for all customer and sales process data to ensure teamwork, collaboration, and global transparency.
  • Develop direct customer relationships using deep understanding of customers’ business needs, production applications, and technical language in the industry.
  • Use consultative sales techniques and solutions that are differentiated to improve customer production quality control and efficiency.
  • Provide an amazing customer experience and accurately manage customer communications and relationships with named accounts.
  • Identify and qualify business and customer opportunities and/or threats; understand account potential, competitors, and market position.
  • Be responsible for new leads and potential opportunities for new and diverse product applications through ongoing research.
  • Introduce new products, solutions, systems, and Lifetime Services with urgency and entrepreneurialism.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to an account sales team comprising sales colleagues, specialists, national product managers, and others to maximize share of wallet.
  • Develop strategic account plans for target customers and opportunities. Establish KPIs for the account team and provide reporting.
  • Lead execution of the growth strategy and mid‑term plan, ensuring timely, consistent completion by the SI sales team.
  • Pursue Sales Excellence, developing skills, knowledge, and competencies; complete annual performance objectives and reviews.
  • Capitalize on development and training opportunities for performance recognition and career development.
  • Keep abreast of market and competitive activity; recommend actions in areas where competitor activities impact sales goals.
  • Participate in trade shows, prepare and give marketing/sales presentations to technical societies.
Key Qualifications
  • Experience: 5+ years of sales experience with complex, high‑technology industrial automation solutions and sensor products through direct sales. Preferred prior technical industry experience outside sales (e.g., Servo Motion, Drives and Controls, Pneumatics, Hydraulic Actuators).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with a focus on technical sales.

    Qualifications:

    • High degree of direct sales skills and implementation of account sales plans through direct and indirect channels.
    • Ability to manage consistently to a sales plan and provide sales leadership.
    • Fundamental leadership in sales and opportunity assessment.
    • Outstanding attention to detail and adherence to project deadlines.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Computer/Technological:
    • Professional competence in Microsoft Office.
    • CRM systems experience or similar tools.
  • Language: Professional written and spoken fluency in English required.
  • Schedule: Generally Monday to Friday, some weekends if required.

    Working Conditions:

    Able to work in an office environment; flexible work arrangements.
  • Travel: Ability to travel 50%.
  • Physical Demands: General office environment; computer monitor >4 hours a day.
  • Work Status: Legally permitted to work in the country and willing to undergo background check. This position is not eligible for sponsorship now or in the future.
Compensation
  • Starting Base Annual Salary Range: $90,910 – $137,500.
  • Bonus Eligibility:
    Variable sales commissions based on company and individual performance.
