Central Garden & Pet Company is a leading innovator, marketer and producer of quality branded products for the pet, lawn and garden supplies markets. The Central Life Sciences Agricultural Products Division focuses on insect management solutions for livestock, grain storage, horticulture, turf and ant control in food crops. The company seeks a Regional Sales Manager for its livestock feed additives team.

The role is remote, home‑office based with significant travel to key accounts and industry events. Ideal candidates are located in the Shreveport, La – Jackson, MS – Birmingham, AL region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with sales director and business management to achieve target market development and sales goals in the assigned area for feed additive cattle products.
  • Report market conditions and competitive environment to the management team.
  • Develop market adoption strategies and tactics aligned with Central Life Sciences’ vision, mission and objectives for cattle feed additive products.
  • Partner with key accounts to develop strategies that increase market share quickly.
  • Implement account and regional business plans that meet sales objectives.
  • Manage company resources for maximum ROFE (return on funds expended) – expenses, marketing funds, advertising guidance, equipment, etc.
  • Complete administrative and reporting responsibilities as requested.
  • Quarterly review and modify Market and Key Account Business Plans to achieve best results.
  • Report monthly on variance against budgets, volumes, expenses and sales activities.
  • Engage actively in industry associations, trade shows, seminars and meetings.
  • Provide ongoing marketplace feedback, product management suggestions, sales forecasts and key business opportunities to the director of sales and business manager.
  • Collaborate with regulatory and technical teams to ensure effective customer solutions and assist in product development related to the marketplace.
Qualifications
  • Proven track record of achieving successful sales results.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong field‑based marketing and business planning skills.
  • Core background in sciences: chemistry, biology, nutrition or entomology.
  • High energy and enthusiasm for market development and business growth.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced work environment.
  • Attendance at national and state trade meetings; presentations for product training and producer meetings.
Minimum Experience & Education
  • BS/BA degree in Animal Science, Agribusiness, Agronomy, Ag Economics, Ag Education, Entomology or a related scientific discipline.
  • 8+ years of sales experience in the Life Sciences industry; preferably in feed, agrichemicals, swine or livestock.
Working Conditions
  • 70%+ overnight travel; frequent car and airline travel with hotel accommodations.
  • Frequent contact with key product distributors, customers and branch locations.
  • Attendance at national and state trade meetings; presentations for product training and educational sessions with distributors, dealers and processors.
  • Home office when not traveling; variable work hours to accommodate customer and project demands.
