Overview
Senior Director, Business Development (Remote - Northeast) at Everest Clinical Research. Everest is a full-service contract research organization (CRO) providing clinical research services to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries. Everest operates with sites in Canada, the United States, China, and Taiwan. To drive continued success in this exciting clinical research field, we are seeking committed, skilled, and customer-focused individuals to join our winning team as a Senior Director, Business Development remotely in the Northeastern region of the United States.
Responsibilities- Source new client and project opportunities aligned to Everest’s value proposition.
- Research databases to identify new leads and proactively reach out to potential clients.
- Win new work with existing clients by collaborating with Everest’s client cluster/account leaders to identify opportunities.
- Support the addition/expansion of new services to existing clients with Everest client cluster/account leaders.
- Achieve assigned sales targets.
- Lead the identification, preparation, and participation in targeted conferences and trade shows to promote Everest’s services and capabilities.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries and requests.
- Cultivate long-term, trust-based relationships with new and existing clients, understanding their organization, needs, issues, and competitive landscape.
- Present and discuss Everest’s capabilities effectively.
- Maintain knowledge of all Everest services to enable cross-sell opportunities.
- Ensure appropriate delivery and pricing strategies, solutions, and resources are proposed to address customer needs.
- Coordinate with contracts and proposals team members and Everest functional leaders to develop RFIs and RFPs.
- Work with operations and SME leaders to prepare bid defenses and address client questions in proposals.
- Drive completion of contractual documents in coordination with contracts and proposals teams.
- Collaborate with senior commercial leaders to build and continuously improve the business development function, including: definition of sales processes, deployment of market intelligence tools, development of sales materials, and implementation of sales metrics.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science, business, or related fields.
- 8–12 years of experience in business development or sales in the clinical research industry for a CRO.
- Proven results in winning business with sponsor pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
- Strong industry reputation with a broad customer base.
- Experience leading direct and cross-functional teams to optimize performance.
- Exceptional people management, written communication, and presentation skills.
- Travel may be up to 50%.
Estimated Salary Range: $170,000 - $225,000.
