East Coast Account Executive
Base pay range: $75,000.00/yr - $/yr
Location: Washington DC area preferred;
Remote (WFH);
Approx. 25% travel.
Position Type: Full-time
Total Compensation: $75,000 - $115,000 (includes commissions and potential bonus)
Position
Purpose:
The Account Executive is responsible for managing all sales activities within their designated territory, focusing on creating and maintaining strong working relationships with clients. This role is pivotal in driving revenue growth through client acquisition, relationship management, and exceptional customer service. The Account Executive works closely with the Sales Manager and Sales Support to ensure sales targets and client satisfaction goals are met.
Functions
- 1. Sales and Client Relationship Management
- Brand Ambassador: Represent Calico Wallpaper with professionalism, enthusiasm, and deep product knowledge.
- Promote and expand business: Through consistent client engagement and relationship-building.
- Client Acquisition: Identify potential clients and key decision‑makers within target markets; strategically and actively seek new business opportunities through outreach, networking, and industry events.
- Develop and deliver customized product presentations.
- Product Presentations: Schedule and conduct presentations for new collections and existing products; tailor presentations to meet specific client needs and preferences; follow up promptly on all client and project leads; prepare and present proposals, negotiate terms, and close sales effectively; convert quotes into orders by addressing client concerns and objections.
- 2. Territory and Business Management
- Territory Analysis: Conduct regular market research to understand industry trends, competitor activity, and client needs; identify and pursue growth opportunities within the territory.
- Territory Management: Manage new and existing business to achieve and exceed sales goals; develop and implement strategies to maximize territory potential.
- Client Library Maintenance: Ensure Calico’s presence in client libraries is current with all product offerings and marketing materials; provide clients with necessary sales collateral, including brochures, samples, and digital resources.
- Sample Orders: Process and track sample orders efficiently, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
- 3. Client Service and Support
- Client Service: Deliver a best‑in‑class experience to clients through proactive communication and reliable support; respond promptly to inquiries, providing thoughtful and effective solutions; maintain ongoing communication to ensure satisfaction and build long‑term loyalty.
- Communication and Reporting: Attend weekly sales meetings; submit weekly call reports; present sales recaps and territory updates.
- 4. Event Representation and Participation
- Event Representation: Represent Calico Wallpaper at industry trade shows, regional design events, and networking functions; prepare and support event setup; generate leads and build brand awareness.
- Networking: Build and maintain relationships with key industry influencers, designers, architects, and other potential clients; attend industry events to expand professional network and identify new business opportunities.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of Sales and/or Interior Design experience (wallcovering or textile experience preferred).
- Attitude: Upbeat, energetic, and a can‑do mindset.
- Work Environment: Ability to work from a home office and showroom; hybrid work model.

- Travel: Some travel required for regular client visits, trade shows, and company events.
- Transportation: Reliable transportation and internet required.
