Job OverviewThe Retail Auditor is responsible for evaluating and reporting on compliance of policies and procedures at retail stores. The Retail Auditor role focuses on retail store operations, compliance with Anti-Money Laundering policies and procedures, and liquor store operations. This role requires skill in the use of auditing procedures and control techniques to meet audit objectives. The reviews and services are performed in accordance with professional and department standards.

Job Responsibilities- Perform audit procedures of corporate and/or majority owned stores at company store locations and headquarters.
- Prepare audit reports and working papers during the audit to ensure adequate documentation to support the audit findings.
- Review findings with the store director or person in charge, complete audit reporting and provide report to Management.
- Maintain understanding of retail programs and operational procedures including, but not limited to, store safe responsibilities, cash handling and cash control, store safety and security, product loss control, store office administration, anti-money laundering, food and physical safety, liquor store operations and employee payroll maintenance.
- Communicate audit issues with the store director / person in charge or other operations support leadership.
- Escalate issues of urgent resolution noted in the store to the appropriate operations support or management upon identification.
- Prepare schedule of audits based on department goals and objectives and travel as needed. Inform the Supervisor of travel issues as identified.
- Prepare summary reports of results and presentations to operations and corporate leadership.
- Assist the Supervisor with questions, issues, and special projects.
- Assist in identifying areas for process improvement.
- Participate in projects, including but not limited to, assistance to external auditors and SOX control testing.
- Attend internal and/or external training programs and perform self‑training to become familiar with store operations areas as necessary.
- Participate in department meetings, retail operations calls/meetings, and assist with department initiatives as assigned.
- Maintain effective relationships with the team, department, and company.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university, required.
- Minimum 2 years of retail experience required.
- Minimum 1 year full‑time work experience in auditing or related position preferred.
- General knowledge of store operations, bookkeeping, receiving and cash.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Highly motivated, confident and energetic, who can work with very little direct supervision.
- Thorough investigation, prioritizing, and judgment skills.
- High degree of personal integrity.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Maintain objectivity and be skeptical while performing audit procedures.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of management.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel alone as audits necessitate.
- Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
