Our Role
The Assistant Merchandiser (Store Grade & Options Planning) is responsible for driving store performance through effective grade and options planning. This role ensures that store grades are optimised, space is allocated commercially, and option counts are aligned to store size, customer demand and trading potential.
What you'll be doing- Run weekly/monthly sales and density by grade reports to highlight over/under-performing stores.
- Assist in maintaining store space and option plans by grade, ensuring all data is accurate and up to date.
- Ensure grade changes are accurately reflected across planning documents, systems and shared trackers.
- Produce and maintain a comprehensive log of store attributes, KPIs and productivity metrics.
- Conduct store visits to review space utilisation, stock density and option levels, feeding back observations.
- Assist in new store space planning by compiling historical benchmarks and productivity data. Monitor new store performance against initial projections.
- Support store space trials by gathering relevant data, tracking performance and contributing to post-trial analysis and recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with Merchandising, Retail and Visual Merchandising teams to ensure grade and option frameworks are clearly communicated and accurately executed.
- Previous experience as an Allocator, Branch Merchandising Assistant or MAA
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into clear actions.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience building structured reports.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Commercially aware with a strong understanding of retail KPIs and store productivity metrics.
- Analytical and detail-oriented.
- Commercially curious and insight-driven.
- Proactive and solutions-focused.
- Collaborative and confident working cross-functionally.
- Comfortable balancing data analysis with regular store engagement.
