BWXT is currently seeking a General Ledger Accountant for its location in Lynchburg, VA

Onsite in Lynchburg, Virginia

• Supports the maintenance and recording of financial transactions.
• Prepares and reviews journal entries for month-end close.
• Prepares monthly and quarterly reconciliations.
• Prepares timely financial reports, ad-hoc analyses, and insights for management.
• Ensures data integrity and consistency through account reconciliations.
• Ensures compliance with SOX controls and fulfill internal/external audit requests.
• Prepares, reviews, and analyzes financial statements.
• Assists with One Stream reporting and analysis.
• Assists with continuous improvement projects across multiple systems.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 5 years in a finance or accounting role.
• Candidate must have experience with Excel, strong organizational & analytical skills.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
• Ability to report to work at an assigned office location. This position does not include a remote work option.

• Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA or CMA certification.
• Experience with multi-site accounting operations.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and their implementation.
• Experience in SAP and One Stream

Pay: $76,000- $119,000

The base salary range for this position in Virginia (US-VA) at the start of employment is expected to be between $76,000 and $119,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
