About

The Role & Team

Amplitude is looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our growing Finance team and help keep our revenue engine clean, compliant, and scalable. This role sits at the intersection of accounting rigor and business partnership, working closely with Sales, Deal Desk, Legal, and FP&A. You’ll play a key role in revenue recognition under ASC 606 while supporting close, audits, and process improvements as we scale.

This role reports to the Senior Manager of Revenue.

Responsibilities gt;
  • Review customer contracts and determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606, including documenting non‑standard terms.
  • Own key components of the monthly and quarterly close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to provide revenue insights and support deal structuring decisions.
  • Support external audits and ensure revenue‑related documentation and controls are buttoned up.
  • Help scale and improve revenue systems, processes, and controls as the business grows.
  • Qualifications
    • 3–5+ years of accounting experience, ideally with a mix of public accounting and SaaS or public company experience.
    • Strong working knowledge of ASC 606 and hands‑on experience with subscription‑based revenue models.
    • Comfortable working in systems like Net Suite and Salesforce, and able to handle complex contracts.
    • Detail‑oriented but pragmatic, with the judgment to balance technical accuracy and business reality.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with non‑finance partners in a fast‑moving environment.

    Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. Salary range: $116,000 – $174,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission).
