Online Grocery Pick‑Up Clerk – Smith's Food & Drug Centers

Select and gather products for customers' online orders in the most efficient manner with attention to freshness and quality. Assemble customers' online orders, process coupons and payment, and deliver and load orders to cars when customers arrive at the store for pick‑up. Provide a positive customer‑service experience that encourages repeat online shopping. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

• Select and gather products for customers’ online orders efficiently, maintaining freshness and quality.
• Initiate and complete the selection process for online orders.
• Assemble orders, process coupons and payments, and load orders into customers’ cars upon arrival.
• Scan and bag orders on the go while following bagging standards.
• Communicate substitutions or exceptions to customers at pick‑up.
• Meet and exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
• Adhere to food‑safety procedures, local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
• Store products in optimal temperature zones after receiving orders from the Order Selector.
• Read and follow instructions provided in the note section.
• Ensure quality and freshness of all items chosen.
• Use a portable phone to communicate with customers and respond to calls professionally.
• Retrieve each customer’s order from all staging locations and load it into customers’ cars.
• Process orders through the point‑of‑sale (POS) system.
• Determine appropriate substitutions for out‑of‑stock items following policies and procedures.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
• Report pricing, scanning, and item‑location discrepancies and invalid temperature types to management.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of items that need repair.
• Perform required opening and closing procedures.
• Assist in training new team members.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards.
• Work cooperatively in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.

• Ability to work without supervision.

• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Experience as a personal shopper or in a production‑oriented or warehouse environment, stocking shelves, or as a cashier.
