Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:As the Manager, Global
Visual Merchandising, you lead and develop global
visual merchandising directives in partnership with the Brand, Product and Merchandising teams. In this highly cross-functional role, you’ll attend early stagegates that inform the pre-season work, with a focus on the NAM, EMEA and APAC markets. In partnership with our Global Merchandising, Brand and Product teams, you’ll create the strategic feedback loop to deliver globally consistent
visual merchandising standards.
This role is based out of our North Vancouver, BC and is open to remote work.
Meet Your Future Team:The
Visual Merchandising team is accountable for driving global consistency of VM within all retail stores to maximize sales, profit, and brand positioning. We create, deliver and train on evergreen brand standards and seasonal directives informed by collaboration with
cross-functional teams.
If you were in the Manager, Global Visual Merchandising, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
Partnering to develop global campaigns and seasonal directives that align with foundational VM strategies, continuously improving on and innovating our approach by leveraging existing North America (NAM) reference as the standardCreating new VM tools and processes to enhance efficiency, transparency, and scalability across global marketsBuilding decks and actioning on creative review outcomes to drive seasonal and global campaigns; partnering with external partners to provide global directionDefining a vision and creating alignment with leadership teams on how we connect VM strategies to Merchandising plans, from concept through to executionContributing to early stage-gate meetings to support cross-functional planning for upcoming seasonsContributing to strategic VM planning, rollout, and solutioning in partnership with Brand, Product and Merchandising teamsContributing to communication efforts between our Corporate Headquarters and Regional VM teams, especially in markets with limited store presenceCreating global vendor relationships across print, mannequin and retail productionCollaborating with the Regional VM Managers to drive store results and best practices; fostering and maintaining strong relationships and communication cadence with the retail teamsEvolving VM directives in partnership with VM planners through a consistent feedback loop, strengthening the monthly direction provided to storesUpholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc’teryx supply chainHere are some of the things you could be working on in the future:
Building, leading and mentoring the team to develop, evolve, and scale the visual merchandising tools, processes, principles and communications that support best in class retail experiencesCreating and continuously evolving our VM concept strategies to deliver on our 5-year brand vision; leveraging global marketplace and key consumer trendsAre you our next Manager, Global Visual Merchandising?
You have a university degree in Visual Merchandising, Art & Design, Marketing, Brand or Business ManagementYou have 6+ years’ experience in Retail Brand Marketing, VM, Strategy within a vertical retail, ecommerce, global environment, and +2 years’ experience leading a team or functionYou have strong visual, analytical, communication and presentation skills, with an understanding of how to leverage both print and fabricationYou are passionate about Visual Merchandising and the guest journeyYou are a strong communicator, and you are eager to grow in your strategic leadership in a retail careerYou are proficient in Microsoft Office 365 & have a depth of experience with Sketchup and the Adobe Create Suite (able to markup, sketch and create visual renderings)You are a creative problem solver, flexible to develop solutions that work within budgets and timelinesYou have excellent planning, organizing and project management skills and you have the ability to multi-task and meet deadlinesYou are enthusiastic and creative, with a flair for design and color with an interest in popular culture…
