Position Summary
As a Visual Merchandising Styling Manager at Walmart, you will enhance the associate and customer experience by translating omni-channel trends into in-store brand experiences. You will develop visual merchandising tools and guides, and collaborate with various teams to implement quarterly strategies. Your role involves creating seasonal key looks, visualizing abstract ideas, and fostering relationships with Merchants and Design partners to elevate store presentations.
Ideal candidates are innovative, customer-centric, and adept at leading cross-functional teams through ambiguity. Preferred qualifications include a degree in a related field, extensive styling experience, and strong problem‑solving skills.
- Develop seasonal Key Looks that provide a brand strategy roadmap for Visual Merchandising, Site Merchandising, and the Retail Brand Experience (RBX).
- Visualize abstract and conceptual ideas based on balance, proportion, and color in a virtual environment.
- Build and foster relationships with Merchants, Design, and RBX partners, while leading division‑wide styling concepts and direction to drive elevated presentations across stores.
- Understanding the translation of industry trends that ladder back to seasonal brand strategies and business objectives.
- Responsible for continued development, process management and consistent implementation of the styling strategy.
- Co‑lead packaging of content with Visual Operations to ensure univariable guidance for in‑store execution.
- Translate innovative thinking into innovative solutions that are grounded in fashion/trend knowledge and customer insights.
- Operate with customer and store team centricity at the forefront.
- Always one step ahead and can quickly identify opportunities with Home Office process and store execution before they arise.
- Effectively stretch across multiple functions (styling, merchandising, innovation, guest insights, store operations etc.) to support the broader team.
- Have aptitude for building strong partnerships, presenting to, and influencing across all levels.
- Lead with an open mind to evolve the ways we work and achieve our business goals always asking questions, challenging the status quo, championing points of view, and applying new/ways of thinking.
- 4‑year college degree in Fashion/Styling, Visual Merchandising, Retail Marketing, or related field and/or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Home Office Styling/Visual Merchandising.
- 2+ years on set styling.
- 2+ years of in‑store retail experience.
- Proven ability to effectively coach, build skillsets, and develop high‑performing teams.
- Comfortable self‑motivating, self‑directing, and building processes and solutions when not defined.
- Strong, quick, and thorough problem‑solving skills within fast‑paced environments.
- Possess strong organization and prioritization skills while remaining agile and calm under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites.
- Preferred experience in Adobe Creative.
- Experience with Big Box Retailer or Campaign Marketing.
- Portfolio highlighting comprehensive styling experience.
