Overview

Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk / In-Store Grocery Shopper responsibilities include selecting and gathering products for customers' online orders with attention to freshness and quality. Assemble orders, process coupons and payment, and deliver and load orders to cars when customers arrive for pick up. Provide a positive customer service experience that encourages customers to shop online again. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

• Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk / In-Store Grocery Shopper: select and gather products for customers' online orders efficiently with attention to freshness and quality.
• In-Store Grocery Shopper: initiate and complete the selection process for customers' online orders.
• Assemble online orders, process coupons and payment, and deliver and load orders to customers' cars at pickup.
• Scan and bag orders on the go while following bagging standards.
• E-Commerce team (Online Grocery Pick-Up): communicate substitutions or exceptions to customers at pickup time.
• Meet or exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal laws, food safety procedures, and company guidelines.
• Receive customer orders from Order Selector; store products in optimal temperature zones.
• Read and follow directions in notes; ensure quality and freshness of all items.
• Communicate with customers via portable phone in a professional and timely manner.
• Retrieve each customer’s order from staging locations, verify order accuracy, and load into customers' cars.
• Provide a positive customer service experience that encourages return visits to online shopping.
• Process orders through the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Follow policies to determine appropriate substitutions for out-of-stock items.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
• Report pricing, scanning, and item location discrepancies to the store e-Commerce supervisor.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of items in need of repair.
• Perform required opening and closing procedures.
• Assist in training new e-Commerce team members.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues.
• Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Ability to work without supervision
• Ability to read shelf tags
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
• Excellent oral/written communication skills

Experience:

• Any experience as a personal shopper or in a production-oriented or warehouse environment, stocking shelves, or experience as a cashier
