Research Lab Specialist Intermediate with underfill Associate
Yunlu Zhu Laboratory with Kresge Hearing Research Institute is looking for a Research Lab Specialist Intermediate. The research goal of the lab is to understand how the brain turns gravity signals into stable movement. The lab uses the model organism zebrafish (Danio rerio), combining genetics, imaging, behavior, and modeling. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the principal investigator and will play an integral role in daily research.
Responsibilities- Perform fluorescent screening and confocal imaging of transgenic zebrafish larvae.
- Conduct experiments and assist with data collection, organization, and quality control.
- Maintain documentation for experiments and assist with the development and implementation of laboratory protocols.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, chemical inventory, and animal care and use requirements.
- Assist with ordering and supply management.
- Train, mentor, schedule, and supervise other lab members.
- Execute and coordinate other research tasks in support of laboratory goals.
- Present research findings and posters at scientific conferences (as opportunities arise).
Intermediate:
- B.S. or B.A. degree in Biology, Public Health, or a related field.
- >4 years of experience in biomedical research with a complete track record of publications.
- >4 years of experience in lab management, including supply ordering, personnel training, and maintenance of animal protocol records.
- Experience with general biomedical research techniques, including confocal microscopy, PCR, and immunocytochemistry.
- Willingness to learn experimental techniques in larval zebrafish.
Associate:
- B.S. or B.A. degree in Biology, Public Health, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in biomedical research with a complete track record of publications.
- 1-3 years of experience in lab management, including supply ordering, personnel training, and maintenance of animal protocol records.
- Experience with general biomedical research techniques, including confocal microscopy, PCR, and immunocytochemistry.
- Willingness to learn experimental techniques in larval zebrafish.
