What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Serve as a technical expert on evaluations of diverse energy sector investments, including grid expansion and renewable energy
  • Advise on data sources for measuring outcomes and key performance indicators in the energy sector
  • Conduct key informant interviews with stakeholders such as program participants, engineers, and policymakers
  • Provide input on evaluation design and develop primary data collection instruments like interview protocols and surveys
  • Translate complex engineering and regulatory concepts into accessible language for stakeholders and clients
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
  • Experience in designing and executing evaluations or research projects
  • Knowledge of energy sector issues, particularly in low‑ and middle‑income countries
  • Ability to coordinate with technical stakeholders and validate data quality
  • Commitment to using data and evidence to drive change in international development
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience with monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) frameworks in the energy sector
  • Familiarity with open‑source data platforms related to energy and climate
  • Previous engagement with diverse stakeholders in program implementation
  • Understanding of political economy analyses and their application in energy investments
  • Passion for international development and commitment to improving well‑being through research
