Role Description

This is a full-time/seasonal hybrid role for a Field Director based in southern Ontario, with the flexibility to work from home on certain tasks. The Field Director will lead and oversee archaeological fieldwork, including planning and scheduling, data collection, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and company policies. Responsibilities include supervising field staff, conducting data analysis, preparing detailed reports, and liaising with Indigenous communities, clients, stakeholders, and team members.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology or a related discipline.
  • Research or Professional License in good standing from the Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism to conduct archaeological fieldwork.
  • Excellent understanding of Ontario’s Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists.
  • Minimum 2 - 3 year of experience as a Field Director preferred.
  • Familiarity with digital data collection tools (Field Maps/Collector, ArcGIS).
  • Strong Analytical Skills and the ability to conduct accurate assessments of archaeological data and field findings
  • Effective Communication skills to liaise with Indigenous communities, clients, and team members
  • Proficiency in Troubleshooting and resolving challenges during fieldwork or project implementation
  • Experience in Training and mentoring field staff to ensure best practices and adherence to standards
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field sites as needed
