About This Role

We are seeking a Temporary Research Assistant to support a programme of research in Counselling Psychology and mental health support, with a strong emphasis on qualitative surveys and mixed-methods analysis of large data sets. The postholder will work closely with academic staff, contribute to data collection and analysis, and help produce high-quality outputs that inform practice and scholarship.

Essential
  • Experience in applied research, especially within designing and running qualitative surveys and conducting analysis of large datasets.
  • Familiarity with qualitative research standards (e.g., coding frameworks, reliability checks, reflexivity), and proficiency with relevant tools (e.g. coding in spreadsheets).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to summarise complex findings for diverse audiences, including practitioners and researchers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across academic and professional teams and engage constructively with stakeholders.
  • Experience of writing social science research articles for publication
  • Experience coordinating workshops or co‑production activities with community or clinical partners.
  • Evidence of contributing to reports, practice guidelines, or peer-reviewed outputs.

This is a fixed-term for 5 months, working 10 hours per week.
