About CARE

Founded in 1945, CARE began as a humanitarian aid organization distributing lifesaving packages—famously known as CARE Packages—to families devastated by World War II. Over the decades, it has grown into a global force for poverty eradication, resilience-building, and advocacy for marginalized communities.

Today, CARE works in more than 100 countries, directly reaching over 100 million people annually. The organization focuses on:

  • Gender Equality: Empowering women and girls to lead change.
  • Health: Improving maternal, child, and reproductive health worldwide.
  • Food Security: Combating hunger, malnutrition, and building resilient food systems.
  • Climate Justice: Supporting vulnerable communities in adapting to climate challenges.
  • Humanitarian Aid: Delivering rapid response during natural disasters and conflicts.

At the heart of CARE’s mission is the belief that research and data are essential for effective programming. CARE doesn’t just act—it measures, analyzes, and adapts. That’s why the Senior Research Analyst position is such a pivotal role.

Why a Senior Research Analyst is Essential to CARE

In humanitarian and development work, it’s not enough to have good intentions—programs must be evidence-based, measurable, and scalable.

A Senior Research Analyst helps ensure CARE’s programs are backed by robust data and research. They provide critical insights into program performance, identify gaps, and translate complex findings into actionable recommendations. In doing so, they help CARE secure funding, influence policy, and maximize impact for vulnerable communities.

This role is especially important today as donors and partners increasingly demand transparency, measurable results, and evidence of success.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Research Analyst

As a Senior Research Analyst at CARE, you will play a central role in strengthening the organization’s evidence base. While responsibilities may vary by project, some of the core duties include:

  • Research Design and Implementation
    • Develop research methodologies and frameworks for CARE’s global programs.
    • Ensure projects meet ethical standards and align with CARE’s values.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation
    • Collect, clean, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data.
    • Use statistical tools and software to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
    • Support the design of monitoring systems that track program effectiveness.
    • Collaborate with field teams to ensure data collection methods are consistent and accurate.
  • Knowledge Management
    • Translate findings into accessible reports, briefs, and presentations for stakeholders.
    • Share knowledge across CARE’s global network to inform future programming.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Work closely with donors, government partners, and other NGOs.
    • Provide data-driven insights that influence funding and policy decisions.
  • Capacity Building
    • Train CARE teams and partners on data collection, analysis, and reporting.
    • Promote a culture of evidence-based programming across the organization.
  • Strategic Support
